We hear a great deal of Obama-speak these days about having an open and transparent government. But when that doesn't happen, we fortunately have laws in place to protect the public's right to know.
For instance, a board's quorum constitutes a meeting, and the public should know about that meeting ahead of time. Officials must vote during an open session, and public records must be accessible to anyone who wants to read them for whatever the reason.See the full content of this document
