I hate to rain on anybody's parade, but the original 1960s "Speed Racer" cartoon was really not very good. Its animation was cookie- cutter crude and its stories simplistic. I suppose for its time it rocked enough to become a cultish fave, but when Andy and Larry Wachowski, the reclusive brothers who revolutionized modern special effects-oriented filmmaking with "The Matrix" trilogy, turned to update anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida's kiddie show, they threw the power and might of their talents behind it.See the full content of this document
