Mike Addington is an artist to be reckoned with. His new album, "Horizon and Main," has a classic country quality, but it's more than that. Through 16 tracks that contain tasteful influences of rock, folk and swing, Addington reveals an intimate relationship with his first muse, music.

Originally from Illinois, Addington spent the first 13 years of his life in Rockford. He is one of those fortunate individuals who knew from an early age exactly what his life path would be. "I came home from first grade one day and my dad had just bought a guitar," Addington said. "He was sitting in the kitchen playing it and from the moment I saw it I knew what I wanted to do."
