Summary
One of Taos's best loved locals takes the stage tonight (Aug. 30) at Taos Plaza Live, when we get to hear two full hours of Michael Hearne and his band South by Southwest.
Hearne has written or co-written many, many great songs, including crowd-pleasers like "New Mexico Rain" (which his uncle and aunt Bill and Bonnie Hearne recorded) and "The Songwriter" (co- written with Mentor Williams and Andy Byrd). Hearne has had songs recorded by a number of fine musicians, including Jerry Jeff Walker, Johnny Rodrguez and Gary P. Nunn, and is a gifted craftsman and guitar picker, with a lovely tenor voice, soothing and sweet. In the band he's joined by Zeke Severenson on standup and electric bass, and Carmen Accaioli on steel guitar, fiddle, mandolin, resonator and hammered dulcimer. While Hearne solo is on the mellower end of the musical scale, the trio does dance music right.See the full content of this document
