N.M. Congressional Delegation Won't Hold Town Halls On Health

Cable television news reports in recent days have been filled with reports of Congress members being heckled and jeered at by critics of President Barack Obama's healthcare proposals. But such scenes are unlikely to be around Santa Fe in the coming days while Congress is in recess.

No public meetings or town halls have been scheduled on the issue in Santa Fe, according to spokespeople for the state's U.S. senators, Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall, and U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luj n. All said, however, that the much-publicized town-hall disruptions have nothing to do with their lack of town-hall plans.
