Parishioners of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Arroyo Hondo gathered this past weekend for the Fiesta of the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The fiesta began with vespers Saturday (Sept. 19). The evening service was followed by a tradition in which the youngest members of the church and parishioners walk with an icon of Virgin Mary to seven stations outdoors. At each station, lit by luminaria, the girls, in white dresses, prayed alongside the priest until their moment came to celebrate Mary by throwing rose petals blessed by holy water onto her statue.See the full content of this document
