Schools Hoping for More Medicaid Sign-Ups

Summary


Taos schools received about $150,000 last year for Medicaid reimbursements. The money helped hire additional social workers and special education assistants, and fund in-school clinics.

However, that amount could be much higher if more qualifying families with special education students signed up for the income- based medical payment program, according to Renee Medina of the district's special education department.
