Summary
In 1982 or '83, the Taos Inn started the Spring Arts Festival to fill their rooms on an otherwise vacant weekend, or more to the point, vacant month. Then, the summer market didn't begin until late June.
The Memorial Day Arts and Crafts festival was the culmination of the celebration. The funds at that time from the booth fees were used to promote the fine arts show at a separate event; little if any of the funds were used to promote the craft show.See the full content of this document
